Petit and Térouanne's Comparisons of Distributions in Electoral StudiesThe Petit/Térouanne technique addresses an important question, with interesting applications. Unfortunately, as developed here it is only trivially useful because it rules out by definition all of the difficult, ambiguous cases that make the question important. Further implications are explored.
